5 Tips to enjoying your wedding day

It's one of the biggest days of your life (if not the biggest), but for many couples, enjoying their wedding day is often easier said than done.  With so much planning having gone into the big day, you'll want it to go off without a hitch, but unfortunately this isn't always the case.  Small mishaps may take place during the day and it's important to try to put these to the back of your mind to ensure your wedding day is remembered as being one of the best days ever (as it should).  Below we take a look at 5 ways to remove the stress of your big day and ensure you enjoy every last second of it.

5 Ways to ensure you enjoy your wedding day

1. Go for a morning stroll

With so much likely to be happening on the morning of your wedding whether you are the bride or groom, take some time to yourself and go for a morning stroll.  Get out and get some fresh air and clear your thoughts.  Think about the day ahead and be sure to take everything in from the moment you return to your home, hotel or wherever you have stayed on the eve of your wedding.  If the weather is bad consider going for a short drive just to have some time to yourself.

2. Arrive early for your service

You don't want to feel rushed on your wedding day so the biggest piece of advice for the groom is to arrive early for the service.  The bride can always arrive a little late as this tends to be expected but be sure that you are both dressed and ready for the service with plenty of time to spare.  Rushing to your service may leave you feeling rushed all day.  Give yourself plenty of time to arrive for the service to account for anything that may happen on the way - the last thing you want is to be pressed for time and have a flat tyre!

3. Smile, it's only a photo

Not everyone is a fan of getting their photo taken but on your wedding day you can be assured that you will be posing for more photos than you've likely ever had to at any other stage of your life.  It's important to remember that this is just another part of your big day and it also makes your guests feel part of it.  Smile your way through these photos and look forward to looking back at them for years to come.

4. Mingle with guests

Your wedding day is not only a celebration of love and commitment, it's also a chance to share a special moment with your close friends and family.  Try to talk to as many guests as you can.  Share stories from days gone by and ask them if they are having a good time.  All of this will help put your mind at ease and ensure that you will continue to enjoy your big day long after the music has stopped.

5. Practice that all important dance

The last thing to do in preparation of your wedding is to practice your first dance.  This will be one of the only times in your life that you will have the entire dance floor to yourself and all eyes will be focused on you both.  Don't make this an uncomfortable experience - practice, practice, practice.

While you will have so much planning to do in the build up to your wedding day, it's important to remember to try and enjoy every second of it.  The day will arrive in no time and be gone just as quick leaving you with a lifetime of memories - make them good ones.
